Remember GIGO: Garbage In, Garbage Out
What you are today is the result of what you’ve consumed throughout life. This includes everything from food to what we accept emotionally. We are products of our environment.
Like many, I go through dietary phases. I’ve noticed I’m at my best when my diet consists of more fresh fruits and vegetables and less greasy foods. I do eat meat, but I try to limit my intake. Not for philosophical or religious reasons, but because I just feel better.
The problem is, I really like certain unhealthy foods. If there’s nothing left in the house, just hand me a soft tortilla and some shredded cheese, and I’ll make it into a meal. It’s even better with bacon bits!
Too much of this can be harmful. It can lead to weight gain, sluggishness, difficulty sleeping, and irritability.
The same is true with our thoughts an influences. Surround yourself with negativity and it’ll be easier to fall into a slump. Surround yourself with positivity and your chances of having a sunnier disposition are greater.
Take a look at key events during your week.
- What do you and your co-workers discuss?
- Is your household in-order?
- Are there any negative influences in your life?
- What can you do to remove or change your reaction to them?
The road isn’t easy, but consistently consuming healthy, positive influences will help lead to a full life.
